Are All Air Conditioners Created Equal?

Are all air conditioners created equal, but more specifically, are all air conditioners the same for different climates? They are not, and that's not too surprising, considering someone in Florida would probably run their air conditioner year-round, vs. here in Cleveland, Ohio, where we only need our AC for a few months. 

Proper HVAC Sizing 

Air conditioners and furnaces are constructed the same, but they all have different sizing. In Northern Ohio, our focus is more on heating than air conditioning. In our climate, we are heating our homes for about 9 months and cooling for 3 months, so when it comes to where we want the most efficient equipment, we opt for heating.
