More often than not, many people do not think about this aspect of their new home, but it is extremely important for your comfort.

What to Think About When Building a New Home?

So, you're having your new home built for you, as you know that is an expensive investment. Because of this, you want to make sure the person who is building your home has a good mechanical contractor working on your HVAC design. 

Many builders have subcontractors who will focus on their part of the job, and the same goes for your heating and air conditioning system. If installed incorrectly or if the design is flawed, your HVAC system is not an easy (or cheap) thing to replace or fix! That is why it is so important to make sure the contractor building your home knows what they are doing.

Here are a few things to ask:

Ask your contractor who their mechanical subcontractor is. Then you can look them up and see if they have any reviews, ask them questions about their experience, and tell them what is important to you. 

If you know anyone who has had a home built, or maybe your neighbors (if it is a new neighborhood), ask them who their contractor was and how comfortable they are in their home with the HVAC system. Ask them if their system is balanced, energy-efficient, what type of system they have.
