Continuous Torque vs. PSC Motors

The advancement that we want to touch on today is the transition away from the old-style PSC motors towards continuous torque motors in HVAC equipment. PSC (Permanent Split Capacitor) motors are a single-stage motor that can only run at one speed. In comparison, the newer motors with constant torque can have up to 5 speeds which allows for much more efficient heating and cooling.
