No Heat?

Now that winter is upon us in Northeast Ohio, most of the calls we receive are about customers have no heat. They need us to come out to their homes or offices and either repair or replace their furnace. It is impossible to tell over the phone what the issue is, which is why we need to visit and properly diagnose the problem. 

Our first step is to diagnose the problem, and sometimes this can be a very minor issue due to a dirty flame sensor, or it could be a bigger issue such as a shot motor. Once we identify the cause, we then inform our customers of the issue and give them their options moving forward. 

How Long Do Furnaces Last?

Most of the time, we can make repairs on your furnace, but it is important to take into consideration how old your unit it. Furnaces these days last about 20 years max because they aren't built like they used to be a few decades ago. In the past, furnaces could last for much longer, but they were very inefficient. 

Now furnaces are much more efficient, but they do not last as long. Although, you can increase the life of your furnace with proper preventative maintenance. 

So, say we come to repair your furnace, but it is 18 years old. It is on its last legs, and it stops working. The repair is going to cost upwards of $700. We would recommend getting a new furnace at that point because that's an expensive repair for an appliance that might not make it more than two years.

We will lay out the options for our customers, advise them on what we think is best, but ultimately the decision is theirs.
