Is Your Air Conditioner Leaking Freon?
Leaks are a common problem with older AC units. If your unit is 10- 15 years old, it most likely runs on R22 freon.
What is R22?
R22 is an old coolant that is used in air conditioners. This was a cheap coolant that could basically recharge your AC.
R22 is much harder to find now as it is not being produced in the United States anymore. About 5 years ago, regulations were set that stopped the production of R22 because it was found to damage the ozone layer.
Since they do not make this freon anymore, it is very expensive to recharge an old AC unit.
What Can You Do?
Replace the Equipment
If your unit uses R22, chances are it's pretty old and will need to be replaced sooner rather than later anyway. We can replace your outdated equipment with a new, energy-efficient unit.
